Peter is a highly-qualified and knowledgeable horticulturist with significant managerial experience, who understands how to motivate and develop team members and has a resourceful approach to handling problems and projects. Having trained and worked at The Royal Horticultural Society Gardens, Wisley, Peter’s career then progressed from being a Horticulturist at the Royal Botanical Gardens Kew, through to Head Gardener at many prestigious gardens of English Heritage and The National Trust including Audley End House, Ham House and Biddulph Grange. During his career, he has continued to expand his knowledge and qualifications at establishments throughout the UK, such as Askham Bryan College, Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh and even further afield at Jerusalem Botanical Gardens, Israel!
Peter has a broad experience of ornamental horticulture and arboriculture and has researched and managed the restoration and reconstruction of Historical Gardens in several of his posts. He also has extensive experience in the supervision and management of staff, contractors and garden budgets.
